Why not Sleep

If you find yourself awake at night, really hope that the dream comes, you may be wondering why you can not sleep. This is a common cause of insomnia, but there are other conditions that, unexpectedly, it can affect your ability to sleep.

1. Circadian rhythm disorders
There is a possibility that you could not sleep because your body wants to sleep at the wrong time. This is a case of people with circadian rhythm disorders. Circadian rhythm refers to the natural order of bodily functions, including units of hunger and sleep. Most people desire to sleep at night. However, if your circadian rhythm moving forward (such as advanced sleep phase syndrome) or late (such as the delayed phase sleep syndrome) your desire to sleep also changed.

2. Restless legs syndrome (RLS)
For people affected by restless legs syndrome (RLS) symptoms associated with it is easily recognizable. Most people with RLS describe an unpleasant sensation in the legs that occur at night, often because you fall asleep, and relieved by movement. These movements can be quite extreme that you can not sleep. If the involuntary movements associated with arm or leg, such as periodic limb movement syndrome (PLMS) can even make it harder for your bed partner to sleep. There are many possible causes of RLS, and there are few good treatment options.

3. Lack of sleep hygiene
The most likely cause that contributes to their inability to sleep just poor sleep hygiene. This phrase refers to the strange behavior, habits and choices that can make it difficult for you to sleep. If you can not sleep, probably because of the environment you sleep, irregular sleep schedules, or other things ruin a dream. Fortunately, many of these problems can be solved once identified, with significant improvements in their ability to sleep.

4. Insomnia
Insomnia is simply the inability to sleep or staying asleep. It also describes the restless sleep is bad. This can happen in the short term, often as a result of the stressors identified, and it is called chronic insomnia. It has also become a more chronic condition. Insomnia can cause great suffering, and in exceptional circumstances, be acute (eg, chronic familial insomnia). Fortunately, there are many treatment options available.

For people with delayed sleep phase syndrome, this may mean you are a night owl and would be difficult for you to sleep at an earlier time. Is it possible to lie in bed awake for hours in the early evening, but then have trouble waking in the morning. This condition can be effectively treated with melatonin, a box of light (phototherapy) or behavioral therapy.
